1st Hole - Blaze Away - Par 5 - 515 yds
The opening hole provides a wide and inviting fairway for that all important first shot. A sensible mid iron second played to the corner of the dogleg leaves a simple short iron third.
2nd Hole - The Mount - Par 4 - 406 yds
An uphill tee shot requiring real accuracy with long rough guarding the right and a small copsed water hazard on the left. A blind second shot with a long iron has further danger just right of the green.
3rd Hole - Platform Pitch - Par 3 - 133 yds
This very short par 3 has several deep bunkers surrounding the green and real danger if the tee shot is long.
4th Hole - By The Way - Par 4 - 361 yds
A positive decision has to be made regarding the club selection for a laid up tee shot, as a major water feature crosses the fairway at around the 270 yard mark from the back tee. The second shot has to again be judged to perfection as any shot played over the green will find more water.
5th Hole - Crocketts Pool - Par 5 - 540 yds
A tee shot played over the corner of one of the courses lakes is not for the faint hearted. A further wood shot will present only a very short third shot. The green is both long and narrow with two ponds awaiting any slightly pushed approach.
6th Hole - Hallend - Par 4 -455 yds
By far the toughest par 4 on the course. An uphill tee shot has to be followed by another long second. The green guarded by a solitary back left bunker is slightly raised on all sides therefore keeping the ball on the green is very difficult.
7th Hole - Mayswood - Par 4 - 424 yds
A slight dodleg right again requires a good straight tee shot. The second is then played slightly downhill to a very small green set against the backdrop of a mature hedgerow. Judgment of the distance is the answer to a good score on this hole.
8th Hole - Straight Eight - Par 4 - 429 yds
A long par 4 with deep rough and trees on both sides of the fairway requires both both length and accuracy from the tee. A very small saucer shaped green seems almost impossible to hit.
9th Hole - Midway Manor - Par 4 - 326 yds
A newly constructed rill meanders diagonally across the fairway at perfect driving distance giving due concern to the tee shot. If survival is achieved a shot iron second can produce an essential 9th hole birdie.
10th Hole - Club Corner - Par 4- 396 yds
One of the most testing tee shots. A row of bunkers guard the left hand corner of the dogleg and a large copsed water hazard to the right. From a good tee shot a mid iron will need to be judged well to hold this large but undulating Green.
11th Hole - Eminence - Par 4 - 370 yds
A steep uphill tee shot with out of bounds all along the right hand side. The second is almost blind with a green carved into the base of a huge bank.
12th Hole - High Tee - Par 3 - 218 yds
The highest point on the course and the longest par 3 only combine to make this the perfect feature hole. The green is raised on all sides and a deep bunker front right just adds to its difficulty.
13th Hole - Windyhowe - Par 4 - 377 yds
This short dogleg left is protected by a sloping left to right fairway which gathers most tee shots into a sequence of fairway bunkers. The second shot is again reliant on perfect distance as this very small elevated green is difficulty to stay on.
14th Hole - Academy Approach - Par 4 - 375 yds
A blind tee shot obscures the dangers of this sloping downhill hole. Huge bunkering on the left, are positioned to gather in any slightly off line shot. The rewards of a good tee shot is a short second setting up definite birdie opportunities.
15th Hole - Electric Avenue - Par 5 - 524 yds
This lengthy uphill par 5 gives a definite advantage to the long hitters only two good shots will enable the player to have a clear view of the green which is deceptively placed in a small swale.
16th Hole - Badgers Run - Par 4 - 368 yds
The last good birdie chance of the round attractively follows the mature hedgerow down its left hand side. Two excellently placed bunkers can spoil opportunities but present very little danger for the average golfer.
17th Hole - Coming Home - Par 3 - 174 yds
A mid iron shot needs to be played to perfection as the green is extremely wide but has no real depth. A deep greenside bunker protects two thirds of the front of this green eliminating a tee shot played to run on.
18th Hole - Robins Nest - Par 5 - 542 yds
A classic finishing hole which has ruined many a good score. This long uphill par 5 has water on the right and out of bounds to the left from the tee. A well placed second gives little or no advantage when playing to this small raised and well guarded green. By the way further out of bounds awaits just 5 yards from the edge of the putting surface.
